As a link between a school in Kibera and a supporting foundation, we ensure that all donations raised by donors are properly received and utilized. Our role is to make certain that the funds reach their intended recipients, the low-income students in need of education and nutritious meals. We strive to bridge the gap between those who give and those in need, making a positive impact in the community.

As a small, family-owned business, we prioritize education and growth for the benefit of both our success and our impact on society. Our co-founder is sponsored by the company to pursue an MBA in strategic management, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to drive the direction and success of the business. Through her studies, she is able to develop plans and allocate resources effectively to achieve our objectives and make a positive impact.

By working with like-minded partners allover East Africa, we promote employee or supplier impact by encouraging collaboration and innovation in sustainability efforts. Doing so helps us set a positive example for our competitors and suppliers to follow and promotes sustainability across the entire supply chain

At Akara Expeditions we promote customer and community impact through affordable travel experiences, free consultations, flexible payment options, and a mentorship program. By removing financial barriers to travel and offering payment options, we are making travel accessible to all. Our  mentorship program, which just recently started by supporting a young boy in Ol Ng'arua interested in becoming a tour guide, promotes sustainable growth and stronger ties with the local community.

At Akara Expeditions, we partner with hotels and lodges are highly rated and environmentally responsible. We also promote slow travel and carryout most of our safaris by use of shared vehicles when necessary as opposed to travelling by air more frequently so as to reduce our carbon footprint.

We educate both our employees and customers on how to be conscious of the environment while on safari and we have a 'no littering' policy that we strictly follow while on tour.
