We source and sell Ajiri Black Tea from Kenya which is all lovingly handpicked by a collective of small-scale farms, who share manufacturing costs and produce high quality CTC style tea. Grown in the green, fertile Kisii Hills of western Kenya, Ajiri means "to employ" in Swahili. The goal is to create employment for women in western Kenya. Each unique label is handmade using dried banana bark. All profits from sales of Ajiri Tea are donated to the Ajiri Foundation to pay school fees for orphans in western Kenya.

We source and sell a variety of teas from Nepal through Nepali Tea Traders which is working in one of Asia’s poorest countries to develop an environmentally sustainable and fair trade tea industry. Nepalese farmers work hard, carefully handpicking and crafting premium teas, but buyers have often paid them below market value and sold their teas as fine Indian Darjeelings instead. Buy selling Nepali tea products we are helping Nepal gain the recognition it deserves as a world-class origin for tea. As we share these exquisite teas with the world, the suppliers we buy from are committed to paying fair prices and helping build a sustainable tea economy that can improve quality of life.

We produce and sell loose leaf tea which significantly reduces waste by using much less packaging, teaching customers how to use reusable tea strainers rather than disposable tea bags, and buy loose leaf tea in bulk bags instead.  We use reusable in-house teaware and reusable and compostable to-go cups in our teahouse and have eliminated the use of straws.

We source and sell Elephant Friendly Assam Loose Leaf Black Tea that is helping to save the endangered Asian elephant. It is the first tea farm in India to receive certification as Elephant Friendly™. The farmer Tenzing Bodosa manages his tea farm in a manner that allows elephants safe passage through his farm. He doesn’t use pesticides that elephants can get into, consume large amounts of, and die. Many tea farms in India use trench irrigation on their farms. Elephants step into these trenches and can be injured. Baby elephants also fall in the trenches and can drown. Tenzing has no trenches on his farm, that can cause a hazard to the elephants passing through. By selling Elephant Friendly™ we are helping to encourage other farmers in India to adopt these standards and receive the certification. Elephant Friendly™ Assam is very smooth and has a wonderful sweetness, with a slight citrus note.
