Targa Media supports good health and well-being in the community by participating as a business leader in the community. The headquarters of Targa Media is in the downtown district of Salt Lake City, Utah. Staff support area businesses and frequent downtown venues often. Community involvement is important to all staff of Targa Media. Targa Media President, Jason Steed, serves on a youth group Board; while Chief Program Director, Taleen Erickson, is involved in development initiatives that support area healthcare.

The staff enjoys a hybrid work environment which allows people to prioritize family commitments and personal health above spending time in the office. Targa Media is committed to quality education. Targa Media’s President, Jason Steed, regularly meets with instructors at a local technical school to discuss the curriculum and skills that are taught in the classroom. These collaborations help ensure that students are learning valuable skills that can be applied in today’s workforce.

Local learning institutions are involved when recruiting new staff members. Targa staff communicate staffing needs to the career services department at a nearby college of computer science; job descriptions are shared with their current students and recent graduates. Additionally, Targa Media participates in Career Fairs that are held quarterly at the school.

Overview

All office equipment and work-from-home equipment are provided to employees by Targa Media. This eliminates the need for employees to furnish additional items like monitors and peripherals on their own. When a staff member moves on, the equipment can be re-used and reassigned to new team members.

Office energy use is at a minimum as the office is utilized part-time. Targa Media has made specific modifications to the office and additional insulation has been added to improve energy efficiency in terms of heating and cooling year-round.

Recycling is an important initiative in the office. Florescent light bulbs are used and recycled. Old appliances are slowly replaced with energy-efficient models. There is an active recycling program and an e-waste recycling program. Additionally, the staff is encouraged to bring personal e-waste items from their home to ensure they are properly disposed of.

Local suppliers are preferred and utilized whenever possible. Office supplies are either made of recyclable material or compostable material. Furthermore, the centralized office headquarters make it possible to commute by using the public system.
